Two illustrations done for 'Husforbi' (July Issue) the danish equivalent of british homeless paper 'BIG ISSUE', the concept is that homeless people can sell the paper, and then get 40% of the money which they earn doing it. The concept is developed by a former Central Saint Martins student. the circulation of the danish version is 63.000 per month.
The illustrations where commissioned for an essay by Martin Snoer Raaschou -a danish poet and writer, who I've worked with on different occasions, his piece was on how asylum seekers are treated in Denmark.
The flag illustration shows the danish flag, lain out like the plan of a house and illustrates a passage where Martin tells us about a family of who live in a four room house, but are only allowed, by auhorities to use two. and how they all sleep in one room in order to by able to have guests over so they can have a social life, an important part of any normal life. It is a powerful piece, and I was glad that I got to illustrate it.
